AMD desktop CPUs are becoming increasingly affordable.
Another day, another AMD Ryzen 7000 series discount. Amazon recently implemented a $10 coupon for the Ryzen 5 7600X, effectively lowering the price of the 6-core Zen4 CPU to $239. Today, retailers are also implementing a new price for the 16-core variant.
The Ryzen 9 7950X CPU is now available for $568.99 from a variety of retailers. This is not a record low price, but it is the lowest in over a month. This price is available on Amazon but not yet on AMD’s official website:
Since we now have confirmed prices for AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7900/7700/7600 CPUs (which are expected to be $429, $329, and $229, respectively), we wonder how long those prices will be valid.
However, the issue with the Ryzen 7000 series is not the pricing of the processors, but the entire platform. The 600-series motherboards are not cheap, and neither is the DDR5 memory upgrade. If AMD can quickly resolve this issue with its partners and memory suppliers, Ryzen 7000 pricing may finally stabilise. Otherwise, we may have to report on another discount very soon.
