GALAX Teases Next-Gen HOF Products Such as DDR5-8000 Memory and PCIe Gen 5.0 NVMe SSDs

The new HOF memory module differs from previous GALAX designs. The HOF logo is outlined by part of the RGB on the module, confirming that the memory will be part of a higher-performing set, according to IT Home. The new memory module from GALAX is expected to feature DDR5 speeds of up to 8000 Mbps, making it one of the fastest DRAM modules on the market for enthusiast PCs.

GALAX is also releasing its new HOF PCIe 5.0 SSD, which includes a central fan to better dissipate heat. The new SSD will also be a member of the HOF family, with a read speed of 12 GB/s. Both products will be on display at next year’s CES 2023, but it will be exciting to see them both on Friday when they are released.

GALAX is not the only company that has or will soon have DDR5-8000 memory modules available. New memory modules for next-generation PCs have been hinted at or revealed by NETAC, G.Skill, TeamGroup, and Zhiqi. Overclocking enthusiasts are currently using more unique DDR5-8000 memory kits to push systems to their limits. Increased memory speeds are required, as processors and graphics cards require more memory speeds to deliver high-performance levels, whether for workloads or next-generation graphics.

Maintaining temperatures on newer DDR5-8000 memory modules has necessitated giant leaps in determining the optimal combination of cooling techniques. Larger heatsinks are more prevalent on the DDR5-8000 modules we’ve seen so far, and the teaser for GALAX’s new memory appears to follow suit.

CES 2023 will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, with over 2,400 exhibitors (an increase from last week) and over 100,000 attendees expected to walk the floor. Several companies will take part in “Media Days” (January 3-4, 2023), with many presentations taking place both online and in person. Attendees will be able to meet with several representatives and see products that will be released this year and in the future on January 5 and 6, 2023.
