The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is a rebadged RTX 4080 12 GB that Green Team claims is up to 3.5 times faster than the RTX 3080. including RT-Overdrive
The specifications and performance of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti are nothing to write home about, as we have seen them before. The RTX 4070 Ti will have the same specifications as the RTX 4080 12 GB, which was ‘Un launched’ by the green team. We were able to obtain some performance figures for the 4080 12 GB, which showed performance that was very close to and exceeded the RTX 3090 Ti in RT heavy titles.

However, NVIDIA’s benchmarks have relied heavily on DLSS3, and the most recent ones go one step further and use the RT-Overdrive mode when comparing the RTX 4070 Ti to the RTX 3080. The RTX 4070 Ti is 3.5 times faster than the RTX 3080 12 GB graphics card when RT-Overdrive is enabled. Even without RT-Overdrive, the card achieves nearly 2x gains, but only with DLSS 3 (Frame-Generation) enabled.

While these are official performance figures, we recommend that our readers wait for final reviews in the coming week before deciding whether the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is worth the price and performance or if they should get something else.
‘Official’ NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB Specifications
The full-fat NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti will use the “Ada Lovelace” AD104-400 GPU configuration with 7,680 cores or 60 SMs enabled. The GPU will have 48 MB of L2 cache and a 192-bit bus interface, so we can expect up to 12 GB of GDDR6X capacity. The memory is said to run at 21 Gbps, with a memory bandwidth of 504 GB/s. The card is said to have a boost clock of 2610 MHz, but the peak frequency will be higher.
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB “Official” TBP – 285W
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB “Official” TBP – 290W
The TBP now has a power rating of 285W, which is a 35W decrease from the RTX 3080 10 GB model and a 5W decrease from the RTX 3070 Ti. The new graphics card is expected to outperform the RTX 3080, but given the specs reduction over the 4080 16 GB, there will be a significant gap between the two models of around 30-40%.
