Today, Intel announced the price of its 24-core Raptor Lake flagship processor.

The Core i9-13900KS has been released today as anticipated. The fastest Raptor Lake-S processor, according to the business, will cost $699, which is $110 more than the Core i9-13900K. With higher clock rates, both processors represent the enthusiast segment.

However, Intel boasts that the Core i9-13900KS is faster, providing up to 6.0 GHz right out of the box and that’s without overclocking. Additionally, the processor’s basic frequency will be raised from 3.0 to 3.2 GHz. Only Performance cores will be affected by such frequencies. There is no Raptor Lake option without graphics in this special edition, which includes an integrated UHD 770 GPU.

Additionally, the KS variant has a 150W default TDP (Processor Base Power), which is 25W more than the 13900K variant. The maximum power is still 253W and hasn’t changed. It should be noted that the i9-13900KS supports the “Extreme Config” power mode, which raises both PL1 (PBP) and PL2 (MTB) to 320W.

  • The first CPU in the PC market to reach 6.0 GHz without overclocking, Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost technology allows for a maximum turbo frequency of up to 6.0 GHz.
  • Intel® Adaptive Boost Technology boosts multicore turbo rates when appropriate to improve gaming performance.
  • 32 threads, 24 cores (eight performance cores and sixteen efficient cores), 150 W of processor base power, 36 MB of Intel Smart Cache, and 20 PCIe lanes in total (16 PCIe 5.0 and four PCIe 4.0 lanes).
  • Support for DDR4 3200 MT/s and DDR5 5600 MT/s is provided.
  • With the most recent BIOS being advised for the optimum gaming and content production experience, compatible with Z790 and Z690 motherboards.

Independent news sources have already released some preliminary reviews of the processor today, however it should be noted that this chip was not seeded to the press as part of a review programme. The CPU is thoroughly examined by HardwareUnboxed, which includes gaming benchmarks:
